The Best Barbecue Sauce EVER! (Allegedly)

This is apparently the Best Barbecue Sauce Ever, given to me by a Swedish friend. I’ve not tried it as of writing (2015-07-01) but there’s some good ingredients in there!

Ingredients

  • 1 Paprika (bell pepper), around 100g
  • 1 medium-sized onion
  • 1 stick of celery
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 30g (~1oz) fresh ginger
  • 100g (3.5oz) butter
  • 1.25dl (half a cup) tomato purée
  • 1ml (a smidgen) of thyme
  • 3ml (0.1oz) oregano
  • 0.5dl (quarter cup) olive oil
  • 0.5dl (quarter cup) syrup (treacle, molasses, sugar in goop form)
  • 3ml (0.1oz) ground cumin
  • 1dl (half a cup) Worcestershire Sauce
  • 0.5dl (quarter cup) vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon light French mustard

DO IT!

  1. Tear up the ginger
  2. Finely slice the celery, paprika, onion and garlic
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan, medium (simmering) heat.
  4. Throw everything into the saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Done!
