A big fat roll of minced meat, covered with bacon, and with paprika, onion and cheese in the middle. Nuff said.
Ingedients
- 1kg (2.2lbs) minced (ground) beef
- 1 large onion
- 1 green paprika (bell pepper)
- 18 slices of your favourite cheese (I recommend a stronger cheese e.g. Cheddar)
- 4 packs sliced back bacon (in Sweden, one pack has 6-8 slices in them)
- Salt, pepper, oregano and garlic powder to taste
Do Eet!
- Completely line a baking tray with foil
- Put the minced meat in the tray and flatten it to fill the foiled baking tray
- Add salt, pepper, oregano and garlic powder to taste
- In a frying pan, add a dessert spoon of oil, heat it up to medium and fry the chopped onion and paprika until soft.
- In the meantime, layer the cheese slices in the center of the baking tray, leaving about an inch (2.5cm) or so around the edges
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F)
- Place the fried onion/paprika on top of the cheese
The meat base with the all the other ingredients except the bacon. Ready for roll-up number 1. - Roll up the foil so that it makes a “fat sausage” roll. NOTE: Don’t just roll it so that there’s foil in the middle; just make a big roll with foil on the outside.
- Line the baking tray again with foil
- Layer the foil completely with the bacon slices
- Unwrap the minced meat roll and place the roll toward the bottom of the baking tray
- Roll up the foil again to make another “fat sausage” roll
- Put the roll in the center of the oven and bake for 20 minutes
- Carefully remove the foil, then bake uncovered for 30 minutes
Done! You’ve got yourself a bacon-covered minced meat roll with paprika, onion and oozing cheese in the middle. YUMMERS!
